Genevieve & Ben {Salt Lake City Maternity Photographer}

Genevieve and Ben wanted a fall colors outdoor session for their maternity photos in October. We headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon, and there were just so many beautiful trees for us to work with.

Funny story about this session: We had a brief scare that Genevieve was starting to dilate the week before this session. They were worried that we couldn’t get photos in time, so we moved the session up to a sunrise shoot up the canyon. We had plenty of time before Graham’s arrival though because it was 2 more weeks until his birth! The good part of us changing the time was that we had the trail to ourselves for most of the shoot and that same afternoon it rained. Everything worked out perfectly.

I love it when couples bring props to their shoots! They brought a little blue adirondack chair, his converse shoes (and they had matching adult versions), a chalkboard, and my favorite of the bunch: the onesie they were bringing him home from the hospital in. Ben is a programmer, and the onesie said, “Made with Love and Science.” How adorable!! We had a lot of fun with the shoot, and you can definitely see their personalities shine through in the photos.

Quinn Family {Salt Lake City Family Photographer}

When Andrea contacted me about having fall family portraits taken of her family, she was specific and really wanted some nice fall colors in a outdoor backdrop. Her family enjoys visiting Big Cottonwood Canyon, and two of her favorite spots are Silver Lake (near Brighton Ski Resort) and the Mill D area near the Donut Falls Trailhead. Unfortunately, our session that was originally scheduled at Silver Lake was snowed out (in October!).

It all worked out that we rescheduled because we ended up having the perfect weather and setting– sunny, perfect temperature, and lots of color at the Mill D area up on Big Cottonwood Canyon road. Her family arrived and I was super excited because her family was picture perfect! Her girls Sophia and Hana have some serious gymnastic skills which they showed off for me during our session.  Andrea also brought the cutest wagon, a tiny Adirondack chair, and their outfits were perfectly color coordinated!

Jordan & Michael {Salt Lake City Wedding Photographer}

Last Friday, I met the most adorable couple on their wedding day at the Salt Lake City Temple! The sweet Natalie from Natalie Felt Photography let me join for their temple exit on this cold and rainy day. (Thank you!) The rain and cold couldn’t dull their constant smiles and joy on this important and exciting day.

Sophie & Manny {Salt Lake City Couple & Engagement Photographer}

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of second shooting Sophie & Manny’s session with the wonderful Ali from Sweet Cactus Photography. She recently had a giveaway contest, and this lucky couple was the winner of the contest.

This couple married about 3 years ago, and they were in need of getting some new photos of them done since the wedding. Aren’t they just adorable? They drove all the way from Logan to Salt Lake to have their session in Millcreek Canyon. They laughed the whole time, and you could see their love is still strong after the newlywed phase! I love seeing couples that allow their personalities to shine through in photos.

Nelson Family {Park City Family Photographer}

park city family photographyA few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing the Nelson family up in Park City. While they live in Austin, Texas, they were visiting their son who lives in the Salt Lake area for a summertime family get together!
The family loves the aspen trees that we have so many of up here in the Wasatch front, so they were hoping to get some fun family photos in the aspen groves. We decided to go up to Empire Pass between Park City and Salt Lake, and we had an awesome afternoon of fun. They certainly know how to make taking family photos fun– They brought the southern with them and tailgated our shoot. It actually reminded me of the Southern hospitality that I am used to back home in Florida. 😉 They also brought fun sunglasses and their drinks with them in some of our photos. How fun!
Our shoot started off silly, and they wanted to make sure we captured their fun side first!
After our initial group shots, the brothers took some photos with their girlfriend and wife, respectively. These two brothers struck some poses, and never missed a beat. This one’s one of their less silly ones. 🙂 And you can’t miss the two lovebirds! Cynthia came into the shoot knowing the exact type of location and she made posing the larger group super easy- Don’t you think she did a great job!?
They wanted to make sure they got some great cousin photos while they were visiting Park City for the week. While we were doing the photos, the group noticed this funny shaped aspen tree. Look how it made a great seat and posing platform!

We had so many “bloopers” that I made an entire album of the silly photos for this family. I love how much personality shined through in the photos!
